I've always liked looking at the sky

Scale, curiosity, and what Orb: On the Movements of the Earth brought back for me about slowing down and looking up.

Notes

I've always liked looking at the sky.

Not in a technical way. I don't know all the names, or the exact science behind everything. I just like the feeling of it. The scale. The fact that it keeps going whether you're paying attention or not.

I watched Orb: On the Movements of the Earth recently, and it reminded me of that.

What stood out wasn't just the astronomy. It was the idea of people trying to understand something bigger than themselves, even when it was inconvenient, even when it cost them something. There was something simple about it. Just looking up, asking questions, and refusing to ignore what you see.

It made me realize I don't spend enough time doing that anymore.

Not just with the sky, but with things in general. Slowing down enough to notice, to be curious without a goal.

Most days are structured around output. What did I build, what did I finish, what's next. But looking at the sky doesn't give you anything back like that. You just look.

And somehow, that's enough.
